Job Details

Wheaton College (IL) is seeking to fill a full-time, tenure track Associate or Full Professor position for fall 2021 as Director of Clinical Training (DCT) and core faculty member in our APA-approved doctoral program in clinical psychology.  As a diverse community of faculty and students who share a faith-based commitment to professional practice with deliberate engagement with and service to those traditionally marginalized and underserved in society, we strongly encourage applications from groups underrepresented in higher education, including women and ethnic and racial minorities. All candidates should demonstrate a commitment to the integration of Christian faith and theology with clinical psychology, possess the terminal degree, and be licensed or license-eligible to practice as a psychologist in Illinois.  DCT responsibilities include providing oversight and facilitation of the clinical training of students including practicum and internship placements, networking with broader training community, and monitoring national guidelines for clinical training.  Core faculty responsibilities include teaching, student mentoring, dissertation advising, and development of a strong research program including engagement with traditionally underserved and marginalized populations.  It is anticipated that approximately ½  of the position would be devoted to DCT clinical training responsibilities and ½ to teaching, mentoring, and scholarship.

Interested parties may send a letter of interest along with CV to Ben.Pyykkonen@wheaton.edu or mail to: Ben Pyykkonen, Ph.D., Clinical Psychology Doctoral Program Director, School of Psychology, Counseling, and Family Therapy, Wheaton College, 501 College Avenue, Wheaton, IL 60187.
