The Sr. Manager, Finance leads and supports the organization’s financial activities such as forecasting, budgeting, strategic planning, and treasury with the goal of enhancing profitability and cash flow management. Further, the Sr. Manager, Finance oversees department staff to ensure that activities are compliant with applicable rules and regulations at all times.

JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Review, analyze and gather pertinent information from departmental business (financial and operational) reports and identify/investigate non-conforming deviations and present monthly overview of department results to the Clinical Practice and Leadership to inform and update on performance and progress.

  • Prepare and present an annual operating budget and business plan in accordance with UHealth and University prescribed budget and planning guidelines and maintain sound financial, accounting and monitoring controls to support achievement of planned goals.

  • Design and develop relevant periodic statistical and performance reports identifying changes/trends in faculty productivity metrics and department KPIs (key performance indicators); making comparison with internal and external benchmarks and report on the root causes of significant deviations.

  • Manage and support the month-end process including the review and analysis of all revenues and expenditures, support variance analysis & financial commentary.

  • Support AOA monthly receivable balance reconciliation process and review AOA charges to JHS including Programmatic funding and the provision of Direct Patient Care RVU’s and charges data in accordance with contractual obligations leading to preliminary and final payment reconciliation.

  • Conduct fiscal analysis and contract profitability reviews by departments on AOA and UPL activities and generate appropriate business reports with supporting documentation on key variances to budget and action plans to improve performance as appropriate.

  • Develop and review business cases and perform feasibility studies supported by break even analysis, risk analysis, business forecasting and resource utilization for new AOA initiatives that are congruent to UHealth goals and objectives.

  • Undertake special project work, business improvement reviews and investigations and present proposals for turnaround purposes to generate greater efficiency and effectiveness while improving performance.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Finance or relevant field

Experience:

Minimum 7 years of relevant experience

  • Ability to direct, manage, implement, and evaluate department operations.

  • Ability to establish department goals, and objectives that support the strategic plan.

  • Ability to effectively plan, delegate and/or supervise the work of others.
