Educational and Experience Requirement
Bachelor’s degree in related field. One year of experience in a related field. A combination of education, experience, and training that would produce the required knowledge and abilities could be considered.

Nature & Purpose of Position
Perform semi-complex administrative and recruitment-focused work for the division of Enrollment Management at The Woodlands Center. Translate the goals and values of the University to all categories of prospective students. Participate in those activities involving the projection of the University’s image to the public, assisting the student’s transition into the university, keeping the University aware of changing characteristics of students, and securing for the university the students who can best profit from the educational opportunities offered.

Primary Responsibilities
Responsible for participating in the academic student recruiting program for transfer students, online students, and adult learners. Coordinates events, presentations and both virtual and in-person engagement opportunities. Fosters relationships with students, University personnel, and advisors from partner institutions. Coordinates document management for all enrollment management departments to service students at The Woodlands Center. Assists with course counseling for transfer and degree discovery. Assists students with admissions, financial aid, registration, and payments. Prepares and reviews reports on the effectiveness of program activities. Confers with staff on program issues and problems. Plans, implements, coordinates, monitors, and evaluates recruitment activities. Assists in developing marketing techniques for the recruitment of students. Recommends program guidelines, procedures, polices, rules, and regulations. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Other Specifications
Knowledge of Sam Houston State University student recruitment activities, admissions policies, and University procedures would be helpful. Minor lifting of recruitment materials required. Computer skills strongly desirable. Regular contact with prospective students, parents, alumni, other state agencies and officials, junior/community college officials, and high schools. Must be reliable, personable, and exhibit a positive image for the department and university. Must also possess the ability to communicate effectively with a varied range of visitors and work in a high traffic area with several distractions. Knowledge of local, state, and federal laws. Ability to supervise business functions. Communicates with other university departments, personnel, and other agencies. *This position is located at The Woodlands Center and requires seasonal travel for recruitment purposes. Position requires driving and operating a university vehicle. Therefore, a valid Texas driver license and driving record acceptable to the University’s insurance carrier is required.
