The Coastal Carolina University LIFE program seeks a dynamic individual for the part-time position of Instructional Support Coordinator, reporting to the Assistant Director of the LIFE Program. The Instructional Support Coordinator will be responsible for providing instructional supports, classroom instruction and advising based on students’ individual needs in a hybrid setting (in person or virtual instruction). This position requires a person with strong communication and organizational skills, the ability to multi-task and flexibility.

Duties include, but are not limited to: training mentors/tutors to provide in-class and 1:1 supports for students enrolled in the LIFE Program, scheduling mentors/tutors to work with LIFE Students, advising a cohort of students and teaching LIFE courses.

Requirements: A Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education, Social Work, Rehabilitation Counseling, or a related field. Experience working with young adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities. The preferred candidate will have a Master’s degree in Special Education, Social Work, Rehabilitation counseling and experience working with young adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities in both high school and post-secondary settings.

Required Qualifications

A Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education, Social Work, Rehabilitation Counseling, or a related field. Experience working with young adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities.

Preferred Qualifications

A master’s degree in special education with a focus on secondary transition, social work, rehabilitation counseling, or a related field. Two years of experience working with young adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities.

Required Licensure and/or Certification

Valid driver’s license
