DescriptionThe College Partnerships Manager (CPM) builds relationships by directly interfacing with various advocates for college choice, listening to needs, exploring ways to partner with schools, parents and students, as well as other community organizations where high school students are found.From these conversations, the CPM will work with campus constituents to build programming that serves to bridge Earlham’s academic, co-curricular and student life programming with high school students in ways that add value to teachers’ curricula, parents’ needs for academic enrichment for their children, students’ early exposure to college classes, and other activities that help students discover and prefer Earlham during the college search process. From these efforts, more parents, teachers, guidance officers, parent-teacher organizations and other local entities will increase their referral of students for admission.

Primary Duties & ResponsibilitiesCreating college planning seminars for parents and students, located at high school auditoriums, public venues such as libraries and community centers, corporate and non-profit meeting spaces, places of worship and other appropriate facilities.Inviting guidance counselors (including independent counselors) to campus to meet faculty and students and learn about their clients’ needs.Offering Earlham faculty-led topics, classes, and seminars for high school teachers to use to enhance their classroom learning, and as part of campus visit programming. Working with Academic Deans to create and sign dual-enrollment agreements with school districts via teaching hybrid, online and seated classes.Developing parent-specific programming that covers topics parents are most interested in learning about as they help their students decide what colleges to visit – and why.Targeting student-athlete populations with information resources and programming that help them better prepare to balance academics and playing a sport.Working with Earlham staff and faculty to offer residential summer programming for high school students featuring academic topics that are fun and impactful, using faculty and current students to facilitate, teach and build relationships with students.Developing high school-to-college internship programs that expose students to various careers in participating corporations and non-profits during the high school years, then bridge to Earlham College through EPIC and our career center.Assisting the Director of International Recruitment and Alumni Admissions Programs in identifying, training and engaging alumni to open opportunities in their home towns for Earlham to build the College’s reach and reputation as a top choice for academic and co-curricular programs.Experience & Qualifications


• Excellent interpersonal, organizational and management skills essential. High degree of motivation and ability to function within a team approach required.
• Demonstrated knowledge, skills and abilities in working with faculty, staff and students with diverse backgrounds. • Must be a self-starter, and committed to the values of a liberal arts education.
• Must quickly develop high visibility among on-campus constituents, and be able to tactfully but consistently encourage and maintain contributions of a variety of staff, faculty, students and others who comprise the human element of individual or group visits.
• Development of a high level of trust and eliciting commitments from volunteers to help with visit programs are essential to the success of this position.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
• Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports.
• Use of CRM database programs as well as Microsoft Office.
• Ability to develop, plan, and implement short- and long-range goals.
• Must be able to work some late nights and occasional weekends.

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Preference to candidates with knowledge of higher education student recruitment environment and strategy.
• A minimum of two years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities of the position, or related experience in another non-profit position.
• Experience with Slate CRM a plus.

The physical and mental demands of this position are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential job functions. While performing the duties of this job, employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, feel objects, tools, or controls, and talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to sit and stand for extended periods of time. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. The employee must hold a valid driver’s license and must have insurance. WORK ENVIRONMENT: Employees work in a professional office environment that is highly visible to members and the College community. Normal office conditions prevail. Office work is performed primarily indoors. Ability to work in an office with a moderate noise level is required.
