The Department of Leadership in Education in the College of Education and Human Development (CEHD) at the University of Massachusetts Boston seeks applicants for a tenure-track assistant professor, to begin September 1, 2021. Candidates’ research agendas should focus on one or more of the following areas: 1) intercollegiate athletics and sport leadership with a focus on equity and social justice, using a range of methodological approaches, 2) quantitative approaches to examining educational experiences, identity development, and outcomes for students of color, particularly Black students, and/or 3) finance and financial aid in relation to inequality in higher education, through a quantitative lens. We are especially interested in candidates who use critical research methods in their work and/or have experience with community-based participatory action research.

Faculty are responsible for teaching, research, and service that enhance CEHD’s community-engaged mission. Responsibilities include: 1) undergraduate courses in the Sport Leadership and Administration Program and/or teaching graduate courses in the Higher Education Program, including quantitative research methods courses and/or; 2) conducting research that is relevant to the field of higher education and/or intercollegiate athletics and sport leadership; 3) advising students and serving on dissertation committees; and 4) contributing service to the university, college, department, and program committees, to professional associations, and to local, national, and/or international communities. The College recognizes that the scholarly work of faculty often includes the integration of teaching, research, and service.
