Basic Function:
Under the direction of assigned supervisors, perform a variety of complex technical tasks related to the management of Inmate Scholars Program textbooks and student coursework procedures.

Assist in the implementation of goals and objectives for the Inmate Scholars Program.

Correspond with the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) personnel to arrange for delivery of textbooks and coursework on a frequent basis.

Correspond with CDCR personnel to arrange delivery of textbooks at the beginning and end of the semester.

Maintain textbook and supply inventories for accountability and ordering purposes.

Notify supervising staff of the need for ordering additional textbooks and course materials to ensure they will be received and distributed prior to the beginning of the semester.

Perform finishing work, such as collating, stapling, folding, hole punching, binding, packaging, shrink-wrapping, and padding reproduced materials.

Quarantine and sanitize materials received from institutions.

Maintain work area in a clean, safe, and orderly condition; assure compliance with health and safety standards through proper storage of chemicals and solutions.

Produce delivery invoices on behalf of the program for textbook and material deliveries.
Correspond with faculty to provide them with completed course materials.

Operate a district vehicle to pick up and drop off textbooks and materials.

Perform related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

-Graduation from high school or equivalent AND one year of responsible recordkeeping and inventory accountability.

-Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid California Driver’s License.
- A sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.

Note: Degrees and credits must be from accredited institutions (Title V Section 53406). Any degree from a country other than the United States, including Canada and Great Britain, must be evaluated by an evaluation service.
