HPWT Maintenance Generalist II

Monitor and replace lamps, locate power failures and reset tripped breakers, perform emergency and exit lighting preventive maintenance.

Repair plumbing systems or the components thereof as assigned. Repair damaged faucets, urinals and water closets. Clear clogged drains (floor, sink, toilet, urinal). Isolate malfunctioning systems (toilets, faucets, urinals, water fountains, showers, emergency eye wash/shower stations). Perform preventive maintenance on emergency eye wash/shower stations, restroom inspections, waterless urinals.

Clean halls, offices, shops, restrooms, conference rooms, lab, elevators, stairwells, etc. Sweep, dust, dust mop, wet mop, spot mop, employ and clean waste and recycle bins, clean water fountains, door matting, and spot wash and clean walls, doors and partitions.

Performs skills work in repair to furniture, cabinets, windows, screens, floors, ceiling, stairs, structures, equipment and all related work. Replace ceiling tiles and repair ceiling grid. Install flooring (vinyl and tile), wall base, chair rails, molding around doors, windows, crown molding, etc.

Assist skilled trades with work and repairs to existing structures (installing or relocating doors, windows, walls, flooring, etc.). Install and repair doors, hinges, exit devices, door closures (L.C.N. disable door systems), door vents, etc.), perform maintenance as needed to the interior walls and floors with the proper masonry materials. Repair, replace and install ceramic tile.

Drives a UF State Vehicle which requires to possess and maintain a valid FL Class E Driver's License.

NORMAL WORK SCHEDULE: Monday through Friday, 6:00am-2:30pm

• Work days and shift times may vary in response to customer needs for special event coverage. Some overtime may be required.

$16.50 Per Hour based on experience

High school diploma or equivalent and two years of relevant experience. Appropriate vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.

Completion of an approved apprenticeship program for multiple trades, or a high school diploma and six (6) years of appropriate experience. Working knowledge of computers and asset management systems.

Knowledge of the principles and techniques of the skilled building trades, mechanical, and repair work, safety procedures and requirements in maintenance and repair work. Skilled with hand/power tools and equipment. Ability to perform a variety of skilled trade functions, read blueprints and schematic/mechanical drawings, follow verbal and written instructions. Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments, and work cooperatively in a team environment.
