Preferred QualificationsPosition Summary

This position will undertake programming tasks to rewrite UGA weather network code as all data processing, archiving and delivery is moved to the cloud. It will maintain and update processes as needed after move is complete, develop and maintain API’s for data dissemination, and maintain documentation of all processes.

The developer will be well versed in the following:
Frontend
Web Fundamentals (JavaScript, HTML, CSS)
Vue.js Framework
CSS Framework (Bootstrap)
Backend:
PHP
SQL Server
Laravel Framework
Web server technology (Apache, Node.js)
API design and development
CRUD (Create, Read, Update, Delete)
Version Control:
Github

Duties/Responsibilities

Duties/Responsibilities

Managing the SQL Server Database, maintain the data, write scripts to query the data, write scripts to help with quality control.

Percentage of time15Duties/Responsibilities

Developing and testing secure API’s with the Laravel Framework to provide data to network users for app development and other users, provide documentation and if needed presentations on use of the API’s.

Building an easy-to-use web portal linking the database to the portal using the Vue.js framework and use this interface through APIs to provide calculators, graphs, and weather maps on the UGA Weather Network website.

Maintaining documentation of all scripts, API’s etc and maintain the code on GitHub. Entering and fixing any “bugs” reported about the scripts and API’s and maintain the documentation.
