Visiting Professor of Counseling

St. Edward's University invites applications for appointment as a full time, Visiting Professor of Counseling to begin January 2021. This position is slated to be converted to a tenure track, Assistant Professor upon the approval of a doctoral program in counselor education and supervision which is anticipated to occur in 2021. There is no maximum number of years an individual can serve as a Visiting Professor at St. Edward's University.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include teaching, scholarship, and service commensurate with Visiting Professor rank. Full-time faculty are expected to teach a full load (4/4) in fall and spring; summer work may be available. Supervision of internship, academic advising, service on university committees, scholarly production, and other responsibilities expected of contracted faculty.

For consideration, an Earned doctorate in Counselor Education and Supervision. University teaching and supervision experience in counseling with excellent references required. Candidates with a strong commitment to enhancing diversity in academia, fostering the university's global initiative, and supporting strategic priorities must be reflected in application materials. Successful completion of an employment and/or criminal history background check is required.

Preferred

Candidates should have taught coursework and supervised students. Preference will be given to candidates who have a doctoral degree from a CACREP accredited program. Candidates with the demonstrated ability to serve as practicum and internship coordinator will be highly considered. The ability to manage or contribute to the SEU community counseling clinic is also preferred. The ability to contribute to the MCFC program is preferred as well.
