The School of Medicine Greenville is seeking applications for a Program Coordinator who will assist the Principal and Co-investigators in the implementation of an NIH R25 educational research project. The Educational Research Program Coordinator will facilitate the implementation, management, and administrative tasks associated with the NIH R25 funded research project. This is a 5-year educational research project funded by the National Institute of Aging and is focused on promoting diversity in research training and mentoring for underrepresented minority undergraduate students (URMs). The coordinator will organize and administratively support the research project. The coordinator will assist in developing student recruitment plans, lead the educational evaluation component of the grant, and manage the grant budget along with other grant associated activities. In addition, this position will work as a member of a research team composed of several faculty members who will oversee 10-15 undergraduate students and several medical students each summer.Minimum Qualifications (Classified and Unclassified positions)
Master’s degree or a Bachelor’s degree and 2 years related program experience.Preferred Qualifications
Prefer prior experience in training development and prior experience in grant management. Prior experience with implementation of evaluation approaches for educational programs. Prior experience with university faculty/staff administration is a plus.Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
General knowledge of research processes
Knowledge of administrative and business management principles, practices and procedures.
Knowledge of rules and regulations pertaining to administrative/business activities of the organization.
Ability to formulate and implement administrative policies and procedures.
Ability to communicate effectively both written and verbally.
Good organization and time management skills.
Proficient with computers and computer systems (including hardware and software) to set up functions, enter data, or process information, as well as general word processing, graphics, presentation software.
Ability to work independently.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with all members of the project team.
