Standard Schedule: 8:30 am – 5:00 pm
Must be willing to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the office.
Will perform duties related to special events and day-to-day activities of the Office of Student and Career Services at the School of Medicine-Columbia. Provides administrative support or assistance with events such as spirit week, final exam stress breakers, pearls of wisdom ceremony, summer opportunities fair. Compiles and distributes the weekly Med School Minute newsletter. Prepares meeting agendas, minutes, and correspondence for meetings and events. Provides customer service and management of office phone line. Maintains student affairs website and Student Handbook.Minimum Qualifications (Classified and Unclassified positions)
Masters degree in Student Services or related field and 1 year related experience, or bachelor’s degree and 3 years related experience.Preferred QualificationsKnowledge/Skills/Abilities
Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality and possess strong organizational skills. Intermediate computer skills are essential to fulfill job responsibilities, including experience using Microsoft Office Professional Suite applications. Experience with photo, E-mail, and financial applications. Knowledge of and experience with Web-based programs preferred. Advanced Adobe Acrobat skills preferred. Ability to work independently. Able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with administrators, faculty, staff, students, parents, and the general public.
