The Freshman Recruitment Intern supports recruitment and yield activities for Juniata College; all efforts are focused on optimizing applicant and advisor relationships as well as funnel conversion rates in the achievement of stated goals. This is a highly collaborative position that leverages the work of academic and administrative partners.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.Support student recruitment activities including off-campus, on-campus, and virtual events/visits, virtual interviews, and virtual counselor engagement
2.Support activity related to converting individuals from prospects to applicants and from incomplete to complete applicants
3.Create/support activity related to converting admitted and deposited students to enrolled students
4.Special Population Management: under the guidance of senior team members, develop strategies to address assigned sub-populations (i.e. athletes, re-entries, cross-campus transfers, etc.)
5.Manage Social Media accounts
6.Other duties as assigned

Position Qualifications

Education/Experience
•Significant knowledge and experience related to social media and social media best practices
•Able to operate in a complex, fast-paced environment
•Strong attention to detail & proven organizational skills
•Prior experience working in leadership positions with and/or working with high school counselors, parents, and students 
•Ability to establish and maintain effective collaborative relationships with various constituencies in the college, including both academic and student life,
•Positive/enthusiastic attitude

Personal Competencies Necessary to be Successful in Position:
a.Excellent interpersonal, planning, organizational and communication skills including the ability to relate well with students, church and community leaders, parents, and others from diverse backgrounds
b.A working knowledge of computer programs
c.Ability to work independently within a broad strategic framework and institutional priorities
d.Proven ability to lead, to develop competencies in others and to delegate responsibility

Supervision Required/Given

1.Reports to Senior Associate Dean of Enrollment/VP for Enrollment and Marketing; works with significant discretion and judgment as to how best to achieve College enrollment goals.
2.Provides guidance and expertise related to social media engagement

HOURS: Work will be performed throughout the day and some evenings. It will be a 9-month appointment with potential for a one-year renewal.
