Department/Organization: 200011 - Office of Disability Services

Normal Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:45 p.m.; occasional evenings and weekends.

Job Summary: The Accommodations Specialist will perform activities relating to the delivery of support services and the determination and provision of reasonable accommodations for students with disabilities.

Additional Department Summary: The Accommodations Specialist is responsible for determining eligibility for disability services and coordinating access to accommodations and services for UA students with disabilities.

Required Minimum Qualifications: Master’s degree and some experience in counseling, special education, disability services, disability law, or social work.

Skills and Knowledge: Knowledge of Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 and the Americans with Disabilities Act Amended Act of 2008 as they pertain to post-secondary environments. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational skills. Must be able to observe strict policies of confidentiality. Strong knowledge of personal computers and software programs such as Microsoft Office.

Preferred Qualifications: Related experience in a post-secondary environment. Appropriate licensure or certification OR eligibility to sit for licensure or certification in the candidate's discipline (e.g., Certified Rehabilitation Counselor, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Professional Counselor, or related field).

Public speaking experience. Experience working with similar populations.
