The Quantum Information and Materials Group led by Dr. Zheshen Zhang at The University of Arizona is seeking multiple experimental postdoctoral researcher associates. Specific expertise of interest includes, but is not limited to, quantum optics, nonlinear optics, quantum devices and systems, nanofabrication and integrated devices, and quantum materials. Individuals with interdisciplinary research background are encouraged to apply.

This is a year-to-year appointment. Position continuation is based on budget availability and satisfactory performance.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Conduct experimental studies in the areas of quantum communications, quantum sensing, and quantum computing
  • Publish papers in recognized scientific journals
  • Assist in supervising graduate and undergraduate students
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Demonstrate understanding of quantum information theory.
  • Demonstrate capability for pursuing independent research.
  • Applicants must be able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. 
  • Self-motivation and ability to work independently to complete research.

Minimum Qualifications
  • PhD degree in electrical engineering, materials science and engineering, physics, optics, or a closely related discipline.
  • Publication record in recognized journals.
Preferred Qualifications
  •  Background in experimental nonlinear and quantum optics or integrated device   fabrication.
