Preferred QualificationsPosition Summary

This position is responsible for a variety of tasks related but not limited to item and assessment development, instructional resource development, and delivery and facilitation of professional learning sessions with internal staff and externals clients. This position also evaluates the effectiveness of assessment materials and helps to develop strategies for implementation and improvement. This position supports the assessment audit process. Additionally, this position also acts as a liaison to other units within the Georgia Center for Assessment (GCA) and outside agencies as appropriate, for the purpose of planning and developing collaborative programming.

•Excellent computer skills, including MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint, Outlook, Acrobat and Outlook.
•Familiarity with the Georgia Standards of Excellence (GSE) with a deep understanding K-12 content and instructional practices
•Extensive knowledge of the assessment development process including Depth of Knowledge, Universal Design, and Deconstruction of Standards
•Experience with Georgia Department of Education online resources
•Experience with online assessment administration platforms
•Experience in the research, development and/or implementation of technology- enhanced professional learning, including online and distance learning
•Experience conducting and facilitating professional learning with a variety of audiences including but not limited to adults and students

Physical Demands

•Travel within the state of Georgia
•Travel for extended days and overnight
•Travel to the GCA offices in Athens and Gwinnett as needed
•Attend/travel to conferences

Support Item and Assessment development
•Assist directly with assessment item development and review in the K-12 core content areas
•Support the scoring and reporting functions associated within District and School Connect platform as they relate to assessment development activities
•Support projects to create new content for both internal and external proprietary purposes aligned to state standards
•Work directly with other project staff to complete development projects, including item review, item writing, and resource management
•Collaborate with teams to create new products and improve existing products
•Review, edit and approve assessment items
•Support internal content reviews
•Assist with resolution of writer revisions
•Assist with quality assurance revisions

Support Professional Learning
•Support the development of K-12 content for GCA’s Professional Learning team to deliver high quality, engaging sessions with a variety of stakeholders.
•Support the development of learning materials and guides.
•Support the development and production of presentations.
•Support high quality and engaging professional learning in the following areas: (1) Assessment, (2) Data Analysis, (3) Item Development, and (4) Formative Instructional Practices (FIP).
