Supervises custodial personnel in assigned buildings that are responsible for maintaining a safe, clean and attractive environment, including but not limited to high and low dusting, vacuuming, washing walls, mopping and scrubbing floors, wiping down surfaces, shampooing carpets, and any other cleaning work necessary, by providing direction, leadership, motivation, and on the job training; issuing keys; assigning and reviewing work; completing Employee Performance Management System documents; reviewing, verifying, and submitting labor sheets and leave slips; and assisting departmental human resources in hiring, position management, and employee relations activities while using various computer equipment and software including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Outlook, FAMIS, VIP, internet access, and Adobe Acrobat Reader.
Knowledge of how to properly carry out custodial tasks. Knowledge of custodial standards and requirements. Knowledge of safety practices relevant to the area of employment. Knowledge of inventory control. Some knowledge of personnel, procurement, and budgeting practices in state government. Knowledge of the concepts and techniques of on-the-job training. Ability to plan, direct and review the work subordinates. Ability to prioritize and make the optimal use of personnel, materials and equipment. Ability to plan, direct and review the work of subordinates. Ability to foster a cooperative work environment. Ability to plan, schedule, and coordinate.


High school diploma and 3 years experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified with one year of supervisory experience.
Driver’s License required.
