The professional programs offered through the UNT College of Visual Arts and Design in the Design Department share a common mission that prepares students to not only meet, but to define and reinvent solutions for the fundamental challenges that impact their respective professions in an increasingly changing world.

Position Summary

The Department of Design seeks qualified individuals for its Adjunct Instructor pool and welcomes applicants at any time. This posting is for the Fall 2020, Spring 2021 and Summer 2021 semesters. The specific courses involved may vary from semester to semester and openings to teach these courses develop on a periodic basis, depending on department teaching needs.

The anticipated need is for Adjunct Instructors to teach courses that may include but are not limited to These ADES courses: Introduction to Fashion Design; Introduction to Industrial Sewing Techniques ; Patternmaking I;Patternmaking II; Advanced Industrial Sewing Techniques; Fashion Drawing ; Draping ; Industry Techniques ; Technical Design in Fashion, Computers in Fashion: Presentation; Computers in Fashion: Concept to Product;History of Fashion to 1865;History of Twentieth-Century Fashion; Fashion: Target Market; Fashion: Collection; Fashion Design Concepts, Fashion Design: Professional Practice and Fashion Design Studio.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelors degree and a minimum of 18 hours of graduate study, both in Fashion Design.

Preferred Qualifications

Terminal masters degree in Fashion Design or closely related field with professional and/or teaching experience.
