Audio Visual IT Systems Specialist

Responsible for providing wide range of AV, IT and broadcast services across Goshen College campus. A technical position which designs, installs, and maintains diverse tech platforms which ITS Media’s audiovisual services, event systems, and campus broadcast infrastructures operate.

Duties include supporting digital signage, audio over IP networking, video streaming, conferencing systems, departmental servers, system administration of campus keycard software that governs access to residential and academic spaces. As part of the ITS Tech Team, this position works closely with colleagues using core network and device management, remote access, and automation skills to support and maintain systems.

As broadcast engineer and chief operator for Goshen College’s award-winning campus radio station, WGCS, this role has primary responsibility for the daily operation of WGCS and ensures the legal compliance of the radio station as specified by the FCC. This AV/IT System Specialist is involved in research and development, prototyping and exploring new technologies and systems and works closely with other IT team members to roll out new services.

Requirements: creative, self-motivated professional with excellent communication, technical and troubleshooting skills and a proven record of delivering results in a complex Audio-Visual, Broadcast and IT environment. Commitment to the Goshen College mission is a must.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Information Systems, Music Technology, Communication or related technology field is required. Additional preferences follow:

  • 5 years experience supporting computer system and users,
  • 5 years experience in AV systems installation,
  • understanding of radio automation, remote transmission and broadcast systems, and electronics and electronic communication protocols as well as network management protocols, VLan structures and IP addressing.

Certifications, Licenses, Registrations: Infocomm Certified Technology Specialist(CTS) required within 1 year of employment. Additional certifications through Syn-Aud-Con, NSCA, or the Society of Broadcast Engineers desired.
