Posting DetailsPosting Number: 0601197 Position Category: Data Assistant Job Title: Data Assistant Position Code: 510X00 Position Type: Staff Department: College of Business Nature of Work: The Data Assistant will serve as a data assistant for the Center for Educational Opportunity. This is a university research center organized to promote research, innovation, and inquiry into issues relevant to K-12 education in order to improve products and services within the educational marketplace, especially for those living in fragile communities. Training and Experience: -Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university is required
-A minimum of five years experience or a combination of training and experience in working with largo datasets
-Ability to use project management software
-Ability to use shared file repositories
-Excellent organizational skills
-Excellent use of date analysis tools
-Knowledge of university and office/departmental/divisional functions and operations
-Excellent use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), organizational skills, management policies and practices, work with social media
-Widely varied background in data service Testing Requirements:Illustrative Examples of Work: -Performs statistical analysis of local, state, and national educational datasets
-Able to conduce both quantitative and qualitative data analysis
-Analyzes K-12 educational trend data
-Assist with the analysis of data for reports in support of he Center's efforts
-Creates a management system to house and maintain datasets
-Supports the completion of Internal Review Board applications for the use of data
-Use research analysis software for generating high-quality grant proposals
-Assists Center personnel with data in support of reports, op-eds, conference presentations, etc.
-Disseminates relevant data concerning current research issues and findings (local, reginal, national, and international)
-Posts data trends on social media accounts that are relevant to Center projects
-Prepares System Optimization Reports on the use of data to measure Center outputs, readership, etc.
-Assists in the preparation of reports to external funding entities as well as peer-reviewed publications, working papers, presentations, or other products that may stem from Center projects
-Identify and systematic method of keeping abreast of educational data trends
-Partner with organizations and other research centers to obtain datasets for research usage Posting Date: 10-08-2020 Closing Date:
