The Program seeks Resident Advisors to work in residential treatment programs for women with substance abuse issues and their children located in Hillsborough.

These programs operate 24/7, 365 days a year. This position involves both structured and informal direct client service and supervision; documentation; transporting residents in a state van; general upkeep of program facility; observing urine drug screens; observing patient medication administration; and providing structured childcare while residents are at meetings or appointments. Staff in this position receive clinical supervision and ongoing training to support career development including support and maintenance of a NC Peer Support Credential.

The primary purpose of the Lead Ambassador position is to serve as the liaison between the Campaign administrative staff and the Ambassadors during the reopening phase of the COVID-19 pandemic. The Lead Ambassador will actively coordinate and sustain productive collaborative work relationships both internally among the Ambassadors and among their targeted businesses. The Lead Ambassador will promote good will and effective health communication to Durham businesses, as employers and as community members, and provide community protective equipment and signage.

The Lead Ambassador’s role includes working closely with the Primary Investigator, Co-Investigator, and Project Manager on the project, as well as leading community engagement efforts related to the Campaign, and advising Ambassadors regarding scheduling, organization, distribution of supplies, and best practices as they enter and advise businesses.

The Ambassadors will visit businesses to listen and understand the needs and challenges they and essential workers face, to observe current practices, and to partner with establishment owners/managers to identify and remove barriers to compliance that can reduce risk of COVID-19 transmission among employees and customers.
