Job Description:

Part-time Primary and/or Secondary Nurse Instructor - Certified Nursing Assistant Program, Center for Corporate and Community Education, Lawrence Campus, Grant funded position

Anticipated Start Date: 2020 - 2021 Academic Year

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Plan, coordinate, manage and direct the classroom curriculum, skills lab, and clinical setting training experience for students
• Evaluate interpersonal skills, technical skills and knowledge base of students in the classroom, skill lab and clinical setting at regular intervals to measure student performance
• Maintain confidential, accurate and complete records and reports as required by state standards
• Work closely with other instructors and departments, such as Center for Adult Education and MA Department of Public Health
• Responsible for efficient and effective use of supplies and equipment
• Complete and submit course records and reports in a timely manner in compliance with applicable guidelines.

Requirements:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Primary RN Instructor:

• Current MA state RN licensure
• Minimum two (2) years' experience as a nurse with a minimum of one (1) year experience working in a long term care facility
• At least one (1) year of experience in lesson planning, lesson delivery, student evaluation and remediation in a health care setting as an in-service coordinator, staff educator, or other health personnel instructor; or the equivalent of 24 contact hours in programs that meet continuing education standards
• CPR certification required
• Technical knowledge and expertise in the area of long term care
• Excellent verbal and written communications

Secondary RN Instructor:

• Current MA state RN licensure
• Minimum two (2) years' experience as a nurse with a minimum of one (1) year experience working in a long term care facility
• CPR certification required
• Technical knowledge and expertise in the area of long term care
• Excellent verbal and written communications

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Adult Education experience
