Job Description:
Part-time Primary and/or Secondary Nurse Instructor - Certified Nursing Assistant Program, Center for Corporate and Community Education, Lawrence Campus, Grant funded position
Anticipated Start Date: 2020 - 2021 Academic Year
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plan, coordinate, manage and direct the classroom curriculum, skills lab, and clinical setting training experience for students
- Evaluate interpersonal skills, technical skills and knowledge base of students in the classroom, skill lab and clinical setting at regular intervals to measure student performance
- Maintain confidential, accurate and complete records and reports as required by state standards
- Work closely with other instructors and departments, such as Center for Adult Education and MA Department of Public Health
- Responsible for efficient and effective use of supplies and equipment
- Complete and submit course records and reports in a timely manner in compliance with applicable guidelines.
Requirements:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Primary RN Instructor:
- Current MA state RN licensure
- Minimum two (2) years' experience as a nurse with a minimum of one (1) year experience working in a long term care facility
- At least one (1) year of experience in lesson planning, lesson delivery, student evaluation and remediation in a health care setting as an in-service coordinator, staff educator, or other health personnel instructor; or the equivalent of 24 contact hours in programs that meet continuing education standards
- CPR certification required
- Technical knowledge and expertise in the area of long term care
- Excellent verbal and written communications
Secondary RN Instructor:
- Current MA state RN licensure
- Minimum two (2) years' experience as a nurse with a minimum of one (1) year experience working in a long term care facility
- CPR certification required
- Technical knowledge and expertise in the area of long term care
- Excellent verbal and written communications
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Adult Education experience
