The Freeman Lab at the department of Applied Physical Sciences at University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill is looking for two full-time research associates.
The successful candidates will play a key hands-on role in a wide variety of molecular and cell biology and protein purification techniques. They will partner closely with other members of the team who specialize in Polymer Chemistry, Biomaterials, and Bioconjugation.
The Research Associate will be expected to function with substantial independence and expertise in original scholarship, research design/engineering, implementation of research procedures, data analysis, and interpretation of results.
This at-will position is grant-funded with funding contingency.Educational Requirements
Master’s or PhD with a focus in biomaterials, engineering, biochemistry or biology is required. For candidates demonstrating comparable independent research productivity, a bachelor’s degree and 3 or more years of experience with biomaterials, engineering, biochemistry or biology may be substituted.Qualifications and Experience
Excellent oral and written communication skills, required.
One to two years industry experience, preferred. Experience in biomaterials, tissue engineering, microfluidic systems integration, or working in a regulated environment desirable. Experience in Matrix biology, imaging, proteomics, stem cell biology, and cell signaling is also preferred.Equal Opportunity Employer
