The Baker lab studies the molecular mechanisms of membrane trafficking, with a particular focus on the proteins that mediate endocytosis (Partlow, Baker, et al., 2019, eLife) and exocytosis (Baker, et al. 2015, Science). We use a variety of biochemical and structural techniques, with a strong emphasis on high resolution, single particle cryo-EM. Candidates will have access to a newly-acquired 200 keV Talos Arctica microscope, equipped with a state-of-the-art Gatan K3 direct electron detector. We are looking for applicants to study how membranes influence transient assembly of membrane traffikcing complexes. Come join our group if you are interested in the biology of membrane trafficking or want to join the exciting field of cryo-EM.

Educational Requirements

Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or related field of study.

Qualifications and Experience

We are seeking a researcher with expertise in protein purification, biochemistry, or molecular biology. Preference will be given to applicants with experience studying membrane proteins or peripheral membrane proteins.
