Physical Requirements

This position may require occasionally sitting and/or standing for extended periods of time and regularly lifting, pushing, and/or pulling objects weighing up to or over 50 lbs.

Shift

Monday through Friday, 3:00 pm – 11:30 pm (2nd shift).

Job Summary

The EMI Coordinator maintains, inputs, and builds count sheets and attaches pictures as needed in the CSPD Instrument Tracking System and acts as a liaison between departments to ensure tray instruments count sheets are correct and up-to-date and pictures are accurate. Communication is key with surgical instrument vendors and reps for ordering, repairing, and confirmation of instrumentation received.

The responsibilities for this position will also be able to assist supervisor, educator, and manager with reports as needed, and works with repair vendor for tracking; assists with education of CSPD staff on proper use of the system; builds and creates new instrument sets count sheets; communicates with staff, management, and surgeons to ensure delivery of care in the operating room and case scheduling. Assists with monitoring changes of the IFU’s to keep system and staff current.

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities

The ideal candidate will have knowledge of surgical products, instruments, and equipment; strong communication and leadership skills; and the ability to identify/resolve problems and prioritize effectively.

Certified Surgical Technologist with at least four years’ experience working as a surgical technologist preferred.
