POSITION SUMMARY
Instructor for Women’s Conditioning: Cardio and Resistance Training Women’s Softball. An adjunct community college instructor is an instructor hired for one semester to teach one or more courses for which he/she is qualified to teach. The adjunct instructor reports to the appropriate Instructional Coordinator and/or Department Chair; provides quality instruction for the assigned courses. The instructor works with full-time faculty in assessing students and following all course guidelines. Willingness to teach at other campus sites is required. Adjunct instructors may submit preferences for locations and loads. Position is subject to all terms and provisions of the Joliet Junior College adjunct faculty contract.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES ANDKEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1.Possessing the knowledge and experience to Instruct students in proper training technique for aerobic exercise equipment
2.Possessing the knowledge and experience to Instruct students in proper training technique for resistance/weight training
3.Demonstrate the ability to create effective workout programs with an emphasis on skills essential to softball
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
1.Master’s Degree in Physical Education or related field.
2.Two (2) years of experience in designing conditioning programs with emphasis on improving skills essential to softball.
3.Knowledge and experience in coaching skills essential to softball.
4.Demonstrated commitment to teaching and learning.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
1.Teaching experience at the community college level
2.Experience with traditional and non-traditional students from diverse backgrounds.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Ability to effectively demonstrate training techniques in aerobic and resistance equipment
WORKING CONDITIONS
Conditioning may include outdoor as well as indoor activities
