Assistant Professor or Lecturer of Entrepreneurship/Innovation
Valparaiso University invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor of Entrepreneurship/Innovation in the College of Business (CoB) (https://www.valpo.edu/college-of-business/). Located one hour southeast of Chicago on a 310-acre campus, Valpo is a comprehensive university with an enrollment of over 3,500 undergraduate and graduate students. The successful candidate will be able to teach a range of entrepreneurial and innovation courses to both undergraduate and graduate students including: introductory and advance entrepreneurship, creativity and innovation, business planning and venture finance, and the capstone course on product development – all part of the Entrepreneurship Minor degree.
The position is a tenure-track opportunity, but non-PhD candidates will be considered as well as a Lecturer. Depending on the nature of the appointment teaching load typically includes a 3/3 (tenure track) or 4/4 (executive lecture track) plus additional research and campus citizenship activities. Moreover, the candidate will play a key role in the strategic and operational advancements of Valpo’s Innovation Hub (https://www.valpo.edu/innovation-hub/). The candidate will work in collaboration with the College of Engineering (CoE) to develop and promote an active program that involves students, faculty, and community to engage in workshops, external consulting projects, and mini-credentials. A wide regional and national industry network is highly desirable with experience working with supporting startup firm formation and working with small to large enterprises.
Candidates should have a Ph.D. (ABD considered) in relevant fields. A non-Ph.D. candidate with extensive industry experience should hold a master’s degree with a relevant track record.
