This position, will serve as the Project Manager for establishing, coordinating, tracking and evaluating of one of the key initiatives that will bridge the Research Excellence and Clinical Care Model pillars of the strategic plan. The Sylvester Precision Medicine Initiative will allow the cancer center to differentiate itself from local and national competition in clinical care and support the development of research excellence in all focus areas of research at Sylvester.

Sylvester’s disease-specific multidisciplinary care teams will deliver precision medicine through individualized diagnostic and treatment options and a well-coordinated, high-touch patient experience. Sylvester will be the regional leader in cancer care providing high quality and cost-effective treatment through its state-of-the-art, research-driven therapies and technologies and its nationally recognized oncology leaders. We strive for our research and discoveries to be translated both nationally and internationally.”
Duties & Responsibilities:
Work with Faculty Leader (s) and Executive Director of Strategic Operations to develop scope and goals of the initiative.
Lead the development of the implementation plan in coordination with Hospital and Research Leaders to bridge/match research and clinical care goals.
Work with Executive Director of Strategic Operations to track progress and initiate and collect information for the development of reports to Board of Governors, UM Board Trustees, State of Florida, etc.
Manage and coordinate the activities Precision Medicine work group. Reviews projects or plans to determine time frame, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing project, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources to various phases of projects.
Assist Research and Hospital Leaders in the development of national and International partnerships.
Monitor budget expenses assignable to the Precision Medicine Initiative.
Participate in the efforts for the submission of Core Grant application to obtain NCI Designation
Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration or other related field required. Experience in project management desired. Computer skills including MS Office products, Internet, and general computer proficiency required. Excellent English skills (both verbal and written), organizational skills, time management, prioritizing tasks, detail-oriented and multi-tasking required.
