Job Summary Atlanta Metropolitan State College, a four-year degree-granting institution of the University System of Georgia, is accepting applications for a Chemistry instructor for the Upward Bound Program. Upward Bound is one of six Federal TRIO Programs designed to motivate and support students from disadvantaged backgrounds, supplementing their existing education and preparing them for academic success at all educational levels. The Upward Bound Program at Atlanta Metropolitan State College currently serves over 100 high school students from various Clayton County high schools on its beautifully landscaped campus which is located 10 minutes south of downtown Atlanta and 15 minutes north of Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport. The Upward Bound Program will be held virtually.The Anatomy Instructor position is a temporary part-time non-exempt position that reports to the Upward Bound Director. Applicants will provide virtual classroom instruction to high school students that will be entering their sophomore through senior year. Applicants will assist students in improving academic achievement by meeting with them Monday- Thursday via Google classroom or Zoom.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor or Master’s degree in related subject area. Two years of teaching experience/instruction at the high school or college/university level. Ability to work with diverse and underserved students.

Proposed Salary $15.00-$25.00 per hour, based upon qualifications, up to 10 hours per week.
