Position Summary:EXAMPLES OF WORK:
•Receive and verify all pieces of the application file, including but not limited to the application for admission, recommendation letters, college transcript, etc. in admissions.
•Receive and respond to the Graduate School Email (GradSchool@untdallas.edu).
•Receive, verify, and process all prospective student inquires.
•Enter prospective student data from info cards obtained through various on and off campus events.
•Execute all of Admissions data entry, daily and event based recruitment mailings.
•Greet persons entering the office, determine nature and purpose of visit, and direct or escort the visitors to specific destinations.
•Operate admissions telephone line to answer, screen, or forward calls, this includes: providing information, taking messages, or scheduling appointments.
•Provide information about establishment, such as location of departments or offices, employees within the organization, or services provided.
•Collect, sort, distribute, or prepare mail, messages, or courier deliveries.
•Maintain storage areas.
•Perform the process of opening and closing the office when needed.
•At all times and in all situations, represent UNT Dallas and the Graduate School in a professional and friendly manner.
Currently enrolled UNT Dallas, UNT Dallas College of Law, HSC or UNT student in good standing and making satisfactory progress toward completion graduate degree program. Applicants must possess the following:
- Excellent customer service skills, as well as effective oral and written communication skills
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office computer applications (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Thorough knowledge of modern office practices, procedures and equipment.
- Demonstrated ability to complete tasks independently.
- Proficiency to keep complex records, to assemble and organize data, and to prepare reports from such records.
- Good interpersonal skills and ease in relating to people from varying educational, cultural and social backgrounds.
- Responsible, reliable and punctual.
- Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, and coordinate work of others.
- Considerable knowledge of academic requirements and policies, or of administrative procedures relative to the area of employment.
