Extending into the school year and beyond, the New Student Program aims to provide students support and programming that will push them past their expectations towards a successful college experience.

Albany State University is hiring a Coordinator to provide support and leadership in the development of student leader initiatives which include selection and training. This position is responsible for planning and implementation of signature events to the orientation and transition of Albany State students. Training and Experience: INTERNAL EMPLOYEES WHO MEET MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS ARE STRONGLY ENCOURAGED TO APPLY.

-Bachelor's degree and one year of professional experience is required (two years of graduate assistant experience will count as one year of professional experience).
-Preferred: Master's degree in Higher Education, Counseling, or related field
-Experience working with orientation, transfer programs, academic advising, and/or undergraduate admissions Testing Requirements:Illustrative Examples of Work: Requirements:
-Coordinating the recruitment and selection process of New Student Program student staff.
-Creating on-going training and development for returning student leaders during the academic year and prior to the summer orientation period.
-Planning and executing a week-long summer training period for Orientation Leaders prior to summer orientation period.
-Coordinating and implementing aspects of New Student Orientation programs run by the office including orientation sessions for first-year and transfer students and their family members/guests.
-Supervising the New Student Programs student staff as needed.
-Compiling and preparing assessment documents for new student orientation activities.
-Developing relationships with campus partners in order to coordinate logistics for all student orientation activities, including facility rentals, catering orders, confirming presenters, etc.
