Training and Experience: *Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with completion of Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field or Associates degree with a combination of a minimum of 10 years of experience in auxiliary services management and administration.
*Management experience required.
*Experience with managing a budget, financial reporting, and revenue and expense accounts required.
Ability to work well with all employees/levels of the University.
*Ability to be flexible and multi-task. Testing Requirements:Illustrative Examples of Work: This person will evaluate existing revenue generating units and explore and initiate new opportunities for generating auxiliary revenue for the University.
Defines and creates new, relevant policies that support potential revenue opportunities while preserving the mission and vision of the University as well as students' goals and priorities.
This position will direct all activities of auxiliary services, such as conferences and events, the bookstore, dining services, non-academic space management, vending operations and any new services included in auxiliary services such as student transportation, card services and the print shop.
This person will manage and direct the efforts of Auxiliary Services staff and assure the contribution of all of the service departments properly support the academic mission of the University.
This person will develop and revise annually the Five Year Business Plan, according to Board of Regents Policy and Procedure, for each auxiliary unit for which he/she is responsible.
Recommends hires, evaluates, trains, disciplines and recommends dismissal of staff as necessary.
?Provides a strategic vision for Auxiliary Services. Ability to explore and initiate new opportunities for the University.
Implements administrative procedures and systems to evaluate existing revenue generation.
Coordinates the accounting and reporting for budgeted revenue.
Assists with budget preparation and expenditures.
Administers/negotiates all aspects of contracts with external vendors for the bookstore, vending, dining services, and events and conference services.
Prepares and analyzes reports relative to the financial and operating performance of revenue operations.
Facilitates the communication and addresses customer service issues with all vendors and staff providing auxiliary services.
Recommends and coordinates facility upgrades and maintenance for all auxiliary services to ensure accessibility and service quality.
Present and convey information to all auxiliary functions to students, parents, faculty and staff at various orientations, i.e., Open House, New Student Orientation, SGA meetings and Welcome Back Week.
Develops and maintains, with approval from the University Legal Affairs Office and Human Resources Department, the University policy for Interaction with Minors while adhering to BOR Policies.
Develops, monitors, evaluates and recommends improvements to processes, procedures, work flow and/or standards ensuring alignments with the University mission.
Supervises administrative, professional, technical/support and student staff and performs both direct and indirect supervision through subordinates.
Develops, administers, and recommends amendments to departmental budgets.
Approves expenditures, reviews financial statements and manages financial operations.
Reviews monthly financial reports in conjunction with revenue fluctuations.
Maintains professional rapport with Bursar to ensure effective communication exists at all times. Must work with Bursar to maintain up-to-date data for financial reporting and other financial obligations, as needed.
Maintains professional rapport with Information Technology Services (ITS) to ensure effective communication exists at all times. Must work with ITS to ensure meal plan policies, processes and procedures correlate, i.e., Blackboard, bookstore course files, Higher Education Opportunity Act, and more.
Communicates with clients to ensure appropriate legal documentation is submitted to the University prior to an event being held on the University campus, i.e., appropriate alcohol serving licenses, certificate of liability insurance, specific security issues etc.

*This position will be housed on the West Campus of ASU but must be able to work interchangeably on the other campus.
