Director Position Code: 00310X Position Type: Staff Department: Office of Research & Sponsored Programs Nature of Work: The Grants Management Coordinator is responsible for providing assistance in the development and submission of proposals to funding agencies. This position reports directly to the Executive Director of the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs and coordinates the pre-award planning and preparation, and the post-award administration of various grants as assigned. This includes identifying funding opportunities; organizing proposal development workshops; providing technical assistance; acting as a liaison with representatives of funding sources to work out final details of the proposal; directing and coordinating evaluation and monitoring of grant-funded programs; monitoring paperwork connected with grant and contract funded programs; maintaining and analyzing grant related data and monitoring compliance with funding requirements in an effort to increase institutional resources secured from external agencies. Qualified candidates will at a minimum possess a Bachelors degree from an accredited four-year college or university and at least 5 years of relevant experience in the development, administration, and management of grants, contracts and sponsored programs.

Looking for a candidate with excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills. Must be able to work with confidential information and materials; have the ability to balance multiple priorities and tight deadlines while working independently as well as collaboratively and remain flexible. Testing Requirements:Illustrative Examples of Work: -Review literature and other sources dealing with funds available through grants and contracts from government agencies and private foundations to determine feasibility of proposal submissions to support faculty research and scholarship and institutional initiatives.

-Prepare and compile all components of each grant submission, ensuring that the proposal is formatted, packaged, and submitted in accordance with granting agency requirements.

-Distribute and/or submit standard and special reports as required.

-Develop and maintain a library of reference documentation, including such information as funding agency requirements, forms and other pertinent information.

-Monitor and coordinate the administration of post-award grants to ensure that administrative and budgeting policies, procedures and agency requirement are being followed.

-Manage administrative problems and/or budget changes occurring during the awarded grant period.

-Provide technical assistance in the form of workshops or peer training to faculty and staff in the area of proposal and/or contract development.

-Work with the Office of Budget and Contracts in preparing budgets and accompanying narrative for justification of proposed expenditures.

-Submit proposal to officials for approval.

-Assist in writing grant applications according to format required, and submits application to funding agency.

-Monitor and facilitate paperwork processes connected with grant and contract funded programs.

-Maintain master files on grants.

-Maintain currency of knowledge of grant funding policies, regulations, and procedures; assist in disseminating and/or presenting changes to departments and advises on the implementation of changes and on the impact of changes on funded operations.
