Job Description Summary

This position is contingent upon funding.

Job Description

The Research Specialist B will perform experiments to advance the study of adverse obstetrical outcomes including pre-term birth. The candidate will be required to manage and maintain multiple human cell lines. Thus, proficiency in "in vitro" cellular techniques such as sterile cell culture, cell line maintenance and functional cellular assays is required. Experience with down-steam molecular assays such as DNA, RNA and protein isolation, QPCR and ELISAs for various secretory or cell associated factors is necessary. The candidate must also exhibit excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. The ability to resent data clearly is essential. The incumbent should be able to troubleshoot and complete experiments in a timely fashion. The candidate should be proficient in using computer-based systems including and not limited to Excel, Word, and other databases. Must be able to work independently and with others.


Bachelor's Degree and 1 to 3 years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience required.
