DescriptionUCCS seeks a highly motivated individual for the position of Apprenticeship Quality Assurance Program Assistant for the Colorado Cybersecurity Apprenticeship Program (C-CAP). Please note that this is a four-year grant-funded, term-limited position and will be funded until February 28, 2024. 

 C-CAP Program’s goal is to address the current cybersecurity skills demand by creating five new registered apprenticeship programs. The program will target mid-level and advanced- level cybersecurity roles: Cybersecurity Analyst, Cybersecurity Consultant, Penetration and Vulnerability Tester, IT Auditor, Cybersecurity Manager/Administrator. The C-CAP is projected to serve 5720 individuals in high wage, high demand cybersecurity occupations and to fill the job openings anticipated within the next five years.

The Apprenticeship Quality Assurance Program Assistant is responsible for assisting the Program Director with day-to-day administrative responsibilities, assisting with participant admissions to the program, and reporting responsibilities for the grant. The Apprenticeship Quality Assurance Program Assistant will be working to assure ongoing compliance with apprenticeship quality standards and regulatory requirements as the C-CAP is launched nationwide across ten states (CO, AZ, TX, FL, CA, NC, OR, NV, NE, and VA).

Job Duties:

    Interprets and implements apprenticeship quality assurance standards and procedures.
  • Plans and coordinates quality management program activities to ensure compliance with applicable federal and state regulations.
  • Evaluates adequacy of apprenticeship quality assurance standards. 
  • Conducts Quality Assurance data collection and analysis in support of achieving program’s performance goals.
  • Conducts continuous quality improvement activities in support of achieving program’s performance goals.
  • Analyzes data to identify areas for improvement and communicate clear, easy to understand results.
  • Assists with participant admissions to the program.
  • Assists the Program Manager with day-to-day administrative responsibilities.
  • Develops, recommends, and monitors corrective and preventive actions.
  • Prepares reports to communicate outcomes of quality activities.
  • Helps resolve any problems or participant issues.
  • Assists with reporting requirements for the grant.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Work Location/Travel Expectations:

    The work location is in Colorado Springs, CO.
Job Competencies:

  •  Knowledge of higher education and workforce development integration, career pathways, or work-based learning/training concepts, with a focus on apprenticeships.
  • Ability to work with employers, participants, and culturally diverse adult and youth populations
  • Ability to function in a highly energetic environment and possess strong computer skills (QA applications and databases)
  • Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills are required.  (Bilingual/Spanish is a plus).
  • Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Responsible, independent worker.
  • Ability to effectively interface with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to adhere to deadlines.
  • Ability to understand new concepts and synthesize information.
  • Problem analysis and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of tools, concepts, and methodologies of Quality Assurance.
  • Ability to create and manage short and long-term project plans for processes and tools.
  • Knowledge of IT certifications and career pathways for IT professionals. 
For the purposes of FLSA this position has been determined to be exempt from (not eligible for) overtime under FLSA.

Salary: $50,000 per year.

Tentative Search Timeline:

  • The potential dates for interviews with the search committee will be the week of November 2, 2020. 
  • The potential dates for interviews with the supervisor and appointing authority will be the week of November 16, 2020.
  • The potential employee start date is mid-December, 2020.

QualificationsMinimum Qualifications:

    Completed Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution in a field of study related to the work assignment.At least two (2) years of full-time equivalent experience in the field of workforce development, adult training programs, or related field.
Preferred Qualifications:

    Experience with data collection and analysis.Experience using data and statistics to inform and generate evaluations of key metrics. Experience in effective usage of data/statistical analysis tools. Certifications inQuality Auditor, Quality Improvement Associate, or Six Sigma.
Physical Requirements:

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit. Employee is occasionally required to stand and walk.Tasks may involve looking at computer screen continuously for long periods of timeTalking and hearing within normal range.Ability to type on a keyboard and use a mouse continuously for long periods of time. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
