PRMO:, established in 2001, Patient Revenue Management Organization (PRMO) is a fully integrated, centralized revenue cycle organization supporting all of Duke Health, including Duke University Hospital, Duke Regional Hospital, Duke Raleigh Hospital, the Private Diagnostic Clinic, and Duke PrimaryCare. The PRMO focuses on streamlining the revenue cycle through enhanced management of scheduling, registration, coding, HIM operations, billing, collections, cash management, and customer service. General Description of the Job Class

Coordinate, prepare and analyze complex PB Coding Operations accounts/cases/procedures/surgical cases/denials and/or financial reports. Review and analyze trends, advising PRMO, DUHS and PDC leadership regarding conclusions and recommendations. Serve as expert resource for covered area.

Duties and Responsibilities of this Level

Manage appropriate systems PB Coding Operations accounts/cases/procedures/surgical cases/denials and/or financial reporting. Conduct expert, detailed research to identify trends, including a review of specifics in the appropriate accounts that includes but not limited to root cause analyses and prepare written reports outlining findings for PRMO, DUHS and PDC leadership highlighting these trends and appropriate recommendations/conclusions. (40%)

Serve as an expert resource to leadership in the decision-making process. Plays an integral role in implementing changes related to area of expertise. (10%)

Maintain liaison with DUHS, PRMO and PDC management and staff, documenting reports and analyses and discussing results, trends and recommendations. (10%)

Act as a technical resource to operational management and internal and vendor support staff on the appropriate interpretation of accounts receivable and/or financial data. Coordinate and mentor internal and vendor support staff regarding accounts receivable and financial systems, analyses, reports and policies/procedures. (15%)

Identify process improvements, including staff education/training, operational workflow modifications, system enhancements, system testing, submitting tickets and external payer policy changes and work with appropriate personnel to implement those improvements. (15%)

Organize and lead committee meetings across DUHS, PRMO and PDC as it relates to accounts receivable and or financial data operation improvements. (5%)

May recommend input in various personnel actions including, but not limited to, hiring, performance appraisals, promotions, and transfers. (5%)

Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

Required Qualifications at this Level

Education:

Bachelor's Degree in business, healthcare administration, accounting, finance or a related field is required

Experience:

Minimum of four years of applicable experience.

Previous experience successfully managing complex projects involving multiple stakeholders with a consistent track record of delivering on time, or high quality results preferred.

A Master's degree in a related field can substitute two years of experience on a 1:1 basis.

Degrees, Licensure, and/or Certification:

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    Certified Professional Coder preferredData analysis and reporting that involves Coding/Billing/Collections of Insurance ClaimsMicrosoft Office – Proficient - (Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint) Good communication skills (verbal and written) are essentialDetail-oriented, systematic, innovative Extensive knowledge of Epic System (i.e. rules, logic, processes) is highly preferable
