Responsible for supervising and organizing the work schedule of the masonry crew. Responsible for the timely execution of masonry projects including, but not limited to, sidewalks, headers, walls, bricks, pavers, blocks and special projects. Makes masonry related recommendations to the Outdoor Amenities Manager. Completes other projects related to the maintenance, repair, and installation of outdoor amenities as directed by the Outdoor Amenities Manager.

Responsible for reading and interpreting plans; laying brick and block; using compacting equipment; sub-base preparation; paver installation; and other tools, equipment, and techniques used in construction or repair of retaining walls, brick fences, stepping stones, benches etc. in connection with landscape design plans.

Maintains inventory of related tools and equipment. Ensures job sites remain clean and organized. Responsible for basic office duties related to the role of supervisor including managing timesheets and all written communications. Other duties as assigned in support of the Grounds department.Qualifications High school diploma or equivalency and two years of experience related to the duties of this position.

(Note: or a combination of post high school education and experience equal to two years; Relevant training may substitute for experience.)

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.

Ability to train and supervise employees.

Experience or knowledge of and ability to identify safety hazards and necessary safety precautions to establish a safe work environment.

Experience or knowledge of and ability to safely operate machinery, tools, equipment and materials used in area of work.

Ability to read and interpret plans or drawings.

A valid State of Florida or Georgia driver's license or the ability to obtain upon hire.Pay Plan This is an USPS (University Support Personnel System) position.Criminal Background Check This position requires successful completion of a criminal history background check.
