REPORTS TO: Associate Athletic Director/ Senior Woman Administrator

EFFECTIVE DATE: TBD

EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Full-time        

EMPLOYMENT CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt                        

                             

PRINCIPAL PURPOSE OF JOB:  

Special emphasis will be placed on assisting the Athletic Director and the Associate Athletic Director in the areas of athletic events assistance, athletics fundraising, athletic marketing, sport specific assistance, and compliance with all rules and regulations of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA).

 

SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY: 

Under general supervision, performs a variety of associated staff support services, some of which require professionalism and specialized knowledge and skills, such as statistics, coaching, equipment, game operations, marketing, sports information, student-athlete programming, and NCAA policy and procedure. Coordinates and facilitates meetings, program functions, and/or special events, as appropriate. May coordinate specified activities reporting across multiple organizational units within a department. 

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Provides support activities for the athletic department such as coordinating game operations, marketing, community engagement, fundraising, coaching, and supervision of students.
  • Coordinates and facilitates athletic events, team schedules, and/or travel arrangements, as required.
  • Oversees and/or performs a range of diverse activities for the athletic department or organizational unit; serves as a professional liaison with the NCAA, Conference members, other departments and external constituencies in the resolution of a variety of day-to-day matters concerning the unit.
  • Assists Athletic Director(s) with problem solving, program/project planning, development, and execution of stated goals and objectives.
  • Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, in-service meetings, and workshops.
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

    OTHER DUTIES: 

  • Assist with student-athlete academic advising
  • Assist with Student-Athlete Advisory Council
  • Assist with managing work-study staff 
  •  

    QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education/experience: Successful completion of Bachelor’s Degree or at least 120 college-level credit hours is preferred; at least three (3) years of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities.
  • Ability to work efficiently, set priorities, and handle multiple tasks.
  • Ability to be professional, accurate, articulate and diplomatic in communications.
  • Ability to effectively focus on priorities with attention to detail and organization.
  •  

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES:    

  • Ability to create, compose, and edit written materials.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office Skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and ability to utilize Banner, NCAA Portal and JumpForward (or comparable student-athlete databases).
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Knowledge of current and emerging trends in the NCAA.
  • Ability to analyze and solve problems.
  •  

     

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: This position does not have any supervisory responsibility.

     

     

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to stand and/or walk for a length of time. Athletic Events and practices often require hours of standing and walking around the facility for instruction, supervision and vigilance of the area.
  • Ability to pick-up/carry up to 50lbs.
