Job Description:

Seeking an OPS Research Coordinator to assist with studies of behavioral and brain degeneration in older adults with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) as a part of the Neurocognitive and Behavioral Development Laboratory of Dr. Zheng Wang (https://ot.phhp.ufl.edu/about/people/faculty/zheng-wang/). This position is full-time. Opening is available to be filled immediately and continue through December 2021 with the opportunity to extend the position based on performance and funding.

Specific duties include:

  • Participant recruitment (including some in-state recruitment travel)
  • Administering cognitive, sensorimotor, and clinical assessments
  • Preparing IRB documents
  • Preparing progress reports to NIH
  • Scoring data and data entry
  • Data quality control and interpretation
  • Preparing manuscripts

The candidate shall anticipate gaining invaluable experience working with clinical populations, developing task administration skills relevant to psychology, neurophysiology, and neuroscience, and participating in each phase of the research process within a large-scale, NIH funded research project.

The research project will be conducted through a collaborative effort of the Department of Occupational Therapy, the UF Center for Autism and Related Disabilities (http://card.ufl.edu/), the Laboratory for Rehabilitation Neuroscience (http://lrnlab.org/) , the Norman Fixel Institute for Neurological Diseases (https://fixel.ufhealth.org/), and the UF Clinical and Translational Science Institute (CTSI) Human Imaging Core (https://www.ctsi.ufl.edu/research/laboratory-services/human-imaging-core/). This opportunity provides ample research and clinical training experience for post-baccalaureate candidates who plan to receive graduate training in clinical psychology, pediatric psychology, rehabilitation science, and medical science in the near future.

Expected Salary:

$15-$17.50 per hour, based on education, skills, and experience

Minimum Requirements:

Applicants must have a Bachelor's degree.

Preferred Qualifications:

Preferred candidates will have a BA or BS in Psychology, Neuroscience, Kinesiology, Health Science, or a related pre-health field.
