The UofSC School of Medicine Greenville (SOMG) is seeking applicants for a Coordinator of Clinical Clerkship Education in Pediatrics. This position reports directly to the Manager of Clinical Clerkship Education, and supports the Clerkship Director in the Clinical Departments to ensure high quality education of multiple disciplines through the Clinical University model. Medical Education is a continuum from medical student to clerkship to residency to fellowship. The Clerkship Coordinator is the liaison between all education and key to organize and coordinate the education process. This position will also have a collaborative relationship with the residency coordinators. The coordinator plays a major role in the day-to-day administration of the clerkship, acting internships, and other rotations and electives. The Coordinator serves as a student advisor, advocate, and policy expert for the clerkship. This position is an important bridge between the medical school and the departments, and also between the UofSC SOMG and the regional affiliated sites. The Clerkship Coordinator will work in collaboration with the Manager for Clinical Clerkship Education and the Clinical Department Clerkship Director to assist with the department’s education activities. The Clerkship Coordinator ensures that all policies and procedures are followed and ensures compliance with all UofSC SOMG requirements for the 3rd and 4th year medical student education while organizing, maintaining and coordinating medical student rotations.Minimum Qualifications (Classified and Unclassified positions)
Masters degree in Student Services or related field, or bachelor’s degree and 2 years related experience.Preferred Qualifications
Experience with administrative support to physicians/residents or experience as a manager in a physician practice or experience in medical education field, managing a program of significant size and responsibility. Proficient with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook Strong Experience working with online learning and assessment systems in an academic environment (OASIS, Canvas, Self Service Carolina)Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
