The University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, Department of Psychiatry invites applications for two full-time, fixed-term clinical instructors. The successful candidates will join a team of social workers and psychologists and psychiatrists who are providing wellbeing and safety assessments and behavioral health consultations for UNC Health and UNC School of Medicine health care employees across all various locations and a multitude of disciplines. The physical location of the position will be the campus in Chapel Hill with service delivery primarily through telehealth modalities.

Clinical responsibilities will primarily include providing assessment, consultation, and brief intervention to health care providers who are accessing self assessments of their mental health wellness and stress through a large Health Care system effort. The successful candidate will have strong multidisciplinary consultative skills, exceptional rapport building capabilities, well developed problem solving skills, and knowledge of the promotion of coping in adults.

A second responsibility of each position will be the provision of psychotherapy in the departments’ outpatient clinics. Areas of specific clinical interests for growth in the department include providers with experiences in marriage and family counseling, trauma therapies, and behavioral disorders in children. The division of the position will be approximately half time with the health care services program and half time in what are currently virtual clinics.

Educational Requirements

Applicant must hold a Master’s degree in Social Work from an accredited School of Social Work with a minimum of two years of clinical practice.

Qualifications and Experience

•Experience in crisis assessment and management
•Strong therapy skills with multiple modalities including cognitive behavioral therapy
•Ability to work well in a multidisciplinary environment
•Interest in working with health care employees
•North Carolina Licensed at time of hire
