Position Description:
The Assistant Chief Information Officer for Strategy, Planning & Operations within the Office of the CIO (OCIO) is core to UCLA's IT Services (ITS) strategy, providing oversight of our steering and advisory committees, portfolio, program and project management, organizational change management, strategy, planning, and analysis, communications, learning development and general administrative functions. This individual will establish the vision for building our partnerships and stakeholder engagement efforts with our students, faculty, and staff; align and manage ITS roadmap, portfolio, programs, and projects with university priorities; and enable an integrated and collaborative approach to our organizational change management and communication efforts to meet the needs of the university while recognizing the unique requirements of our different schools and units. The Assistant CIO, OCIO will also spearhead UCLA's ITS organizational initiatives and efforts, including general administrative functions, internal communications, talent management, ITS Academy, and culture development.
The Assistant CIO, Strategy, Planning & Operations will have three primary objectives: First, the establishment of an Enterprise Portfolio Management Office (ePMO) that will ensure key initiatives, core to UCLA's ITS strategy, are approached in a standard, coordinated manner to reduce risk and improve delivery performance through the application of portfolio, program, project and organizational change management best practices. Second, the cultivation and leadership of UCLA's ITS engagement strategy, including internal communication, learning and development, and culture program and teams. Third, the oversight of ITS's administrative functions such as strategy, planning, and analysis; governance, financial management, and talent management.
