Job Summary Serving within the Research Faculty of The Institute, this position directly supports the extension, service, and economic development missions of Georgia Tech to the state of Georgia and beyond. Primarily this position serves within the Georgia Tech MEP (Manufacturing Extension Partnership) of the Enterprise Innovation Institute (EI2). GaMEP Extension Professionals are responsible for initiating, conducting, reporting, and follow-up of developmental and technical projects for the focused (but not exclusive) client customer base defined as the small to mid-size manufacturer (<500 employees). EI2 Extension Professionals are expected to manage projects independently and report measurable outcomes through internal metric reporting systems required by federal sponsors.

Responsibilities

    Perform project initiation, execution, and delivery. In general, this includes, but is not limited to evaluating client needs, facilitating groups in identifying/solving problems, collaborating with appropriate constituents to meet project objectives/requirements, assigning and/or performing project follow-up activities, and presenting project findings/recommendations.

    Assist manufacturing industry clients with leadership needs analysis as well as creation and delivery of training plans.

    Work with clients as a trusted advisor to ensure client’s vision and strategic priorities are achieved and sustained.

    Facilitate innovative discovery for various processes and identify potential technical solutions.

    Lead organizational assessments and provide recommendations to executive leadership for a variety of clients.

    Perform organizational administrative tasks, and other related duties, as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

    Education: Master's Degree in related/relevant field e.g., Management, Engineering, Business, Technology. Work Experience: 3-5 years job-related experience (or equivalent combination of education and work experience).Skills: Incumbent must possess a strong business acumen with previous experience in multi-function executive-level leadership and strategy development/deployment. General manufacturing consulting service delivery experience is required. Successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a reputable track record in project management with an ability to interpret/present data in logical and client-understandable fashion. Travel: Incumbents in this position are expected to travel state-wide and remain flexible to on-site daily service delivery hours (due to client shift schedules and/or project requirements).
Preferred Qualifications:

    Preferred Education: Doctoral Degree in related/relevant field e.g., Management, Engineering, Business, Technology. Preferred applicant will possess an undergraduate engineering or technology degree and an MBA or doctoral degree in business management. Preferred Work Experience: 10+ years job-related work experience.Preferred applicant backgrounds include: Extensive experience in manufacturing-related consultative service delivery. Preferred applicants will possess a background in Leadership Course Development, Training, Strategy Facilitation, and Technical Support. Successful candidate will also possess a strong knowledge base in Innovation, Problem-Solving, and utilizing Tech Scouting to apply relevant technical skills to solve complex organizational challenges.

Location
