We specialize in research focusing on a cure for four neurodegenerative diseases; Alzheimer’s Disease, Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), Multiple Sclerosis, and Parkinson’s Disease. Our mission is to bring the innovations in brain science of the future to those who need a cure today. We are seeking a highly-qualified Administrator to coordinate and manage budgets and grants for the research center program and subprojects which will serve research groups across AZ. The position requires a demonstrated ability to work independently and professionally with minimal supervision. Duties & Responsibilities
  • Supervises/manages activities ofsubordinates, including assigned work and evaluating performance.
  • Prepares and/or supervises the preparation of financial reports andreconciliations.
  • Works closely with financial staffin the Office of the Senior Vice President to administer and monitor state andgrant budgets and provide strategic planning and fiscal oversight responsibilityfor business operations. 
  • Develops Center preaward budgets in conjunction with UAHS ResearchAdministration team for federal, state and foundation grants and donorgifts, 
  • Assists with oversight of all Center grant submissions and awards to insurethey are completed on time and in compliance. 
  • Provide grant and contract revenue administrative management for all Centersources of funding.
  • Prepares and/or directs the preparation of reports, statements, surveys oranalysis for management.
  • Develop and implement quarterly and annual budget projections.
  • Ensure that all progress reports for all funding sources are generated andsubmitted on time.
  • Collaborate closely with team members to determine project scope, priority,resource allocation, budget, infrastructure building and logistics etc whileproactively managing projects by using critical thinking skills to anticipateproject tasks and needs.
  • Interpret and apply institutional, local, state and federal policies.
  • Researches, analyzes and uses independent judgment in a variety of daily andnon-routine decisions affecting assigned function.
  • Advises management regarding procedures concerning expenditures and otheraccounting practices. Initiate and process requisitions, disbursement vouchers,PCards, etc. including office and laboratory supplies, equipment and personneltravel expenses.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve budgetaryissues.  Recommends alternatives to management when accounting dataindicates trends or situations requiring action to be taken beyond scope ofresponsibilities.
  • Maintain confidentiality at the highest levels.
  • Serve as a Center representative toother University administrative offices, colleges and departments.
  • Manages a high volume of work and effectively meets tight deadlines.
  • Provide a strategy, planning and fiscal oversight for business operations.
  • Embrace other responsibilities as necessary for the operations and managementof the Center.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Minimum of 3 years of related work experience or equivalent combination of education and work experience required.
  • Generally requires a Bachelor's degree. Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through experience required.
