Asst Professor/Lecturer in Information & Decision Sciences (Supply Chain Mgt & Business Analytics)
Valparaiso University invites applications for the position of tenure-track assistant professor or lecturer, in the College of Business (https://www.valpo.edu/college-of-business/). The position is a tenure-track opportunity but non-PhD candidates will be considered as a Lecturer. A candidate for the tenure-track assistant professor position should hold a Ph.D. in the relevant discipline (ABD considered). Lecturer track applicants should hold a Master’s degree in a related business discipline ideally with a minimum of 5-10 years of relevant industry experience, with an expectation of ongoing industry engagement.
The successful candidate will be able to teach a range of applied analytics courses for data-driven decision making related to supply chain management and business analytics in general to both undergraduate and graduate students. Teaching experience with demonstrated classroom and online teaching effectiveness is highly desirable. Depending on the nature of the appointment teaching load typically includes with a 3/3 (tenure track) or 4/4 (lecture track) plus additional research and campus citizenship activities if relevant. The ideal candidate will hold SAP certification and be able to teach introductory, intermediate and advanced SAP courses, and be able to teach additional data-driven electives as needed. Moreover, the candidate will play a key role to infuse data and business analytic applications in our curriculum working closely with faculty across all business majors.
