Employment Status:Full time (29-40 Hrs) Closing:12/1/20 Proposed Salary Range:$27,858.00 Type of Employment:Staff Location:ASU-Jonesboro

Position Summary:

The Institutional Printer is responsible for printing forms, pamphlets, and other requested materials and may assist or oversee layout design

This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency/institution policy

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Operates and maintains offset presses
  • Runs jobs on single, two color and four color presses
  • Maintains quality control on all work, including process color and exact register work
  • Performs tasks and duties assigned by Asst. Director or production
  • Supervisor and takes on initiative to accomplish any and all tasks
  • Helps in other areas in the printing plant as needed
  • Performs preventive maintenance and repairs of presses as needed, such as oiling, cleaning and adjustments
  • Operates post press equipment as needed, such as paper cutter, folder, saddle stitcher and other equipment
  • Performs other duties and tasks as directed


Knowledge of printing operations and procedures
Knowledge of form/graphic design

Ability to assign and coordinate work activities and monitor the performance of co-workers and/or subordinates
Ability to operate and maintain printing equipment
Ability to maintain inventory and requisition supplies
Ability to review print orders, determine materials needed, and produce a finished product

General Days/Hours:

Monday - Friday
8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Additional hours as requested and/or needed
Regular and reliable attendance

Exposure to hazardous chemicals and subjected to excessive noise from machinery in the performance of job duties

Occasional overtime may be required

Minimum Qualifications:

The formal education of a High School Diploma

Two (2) years of advanced training in printing techniques and practices
Three (3) years of experience in the printing trade

Other job related education and/or experience may be substituted for all or part of these basic requirements, except for certification or licensure requirements, upon approval of the qualifications review committee
