The Post-Doctoral Research Associate position is a non-tenure leading position working under the supervision of Dr. Clayton Kelling. A full-time position contributing to the integrated research activities of the land-grant mission of the home unit and IANR, as an effective scholar and citizen, including supporting student recruitment and IANR science literacy.

The duties and responsibilities of this position are related to work on the pathogenesis of the bovine viral pathogens, bovine viral diarrhea virus and bovine respiratory syncytial virus. The incumbent is expected to be self-motivated and able to develop and conduct research studies independently. Participation as a team member with students and technical staff in the laboratory or supervisors is essential and the incumbent is encouraged to take initiative in writing grants.

Minimum Required Qualifications

The candidate must have a PhD; DVM, PhD; MD, PhD; or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications

A strong background and experience in molecular biology, virology, microbiology, immunology and biochemistry.

Experience with standard cellular and molecular immunological techniques, molecular biology assays (cloning and sequence analysis), proteins, flow cytometry, is highly desired.
