Position Summary

The technician is expected to develop a high-throughput imaging platform for Arbuscular Mycorrhizal Fungi (AMF) and sorghum roots to understand their interaction and to understand how the symbiosis affects plant biomass. Technician is expected to operate independently.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies

Relevant/preferred education, experience, Licensure, Certifications: BS in the biological sciences, work experience in biological setting, work experience with plants and/or fungi.

Physical Demands

Lift up to 50 lbs; will sit for long periods of time. Will use shovel to dig.

Develop protocols for high throughput imaging of sorghum roots.

Capture root images on over 20,000 sorghum plant root systems.
