THE DEPARTMENT IS HIRING FOR 5 NURSING CONSULTANTS (20026375, 20036929, 20036931, 20036932, & 20036939). BY APPLYING TO THIS POSTING, YOU WILL BE CONSIDERED FOR ALL POSITIONS.
The Nurse Consultant has broad responsibility for the implementation of complex clinical trials. These trials include prevention, treatment, and possible cure of a potentially fatal disease, HIV, COVID-19 as well as sexually transmitted diseases. The Nurse Consultant must have a broad knowledge of adult assessment and common health problems, HIV/AIDS and other infectious diseases, medical ethics, Good Clinical Practice (GCP) as well as network and study-specific procedures and data collection. This position is a professional member of the staff and as such is expected to work independently, adhere to all University, Acute/Cure Program, and profession-specific regulations as well as participate in unit-wide activities and exhibit a high degree of accountability for all work. This position may be called upon to participate in the hiring, training, and supervision of new staff. All team members are expected to participate in the Quality Assurance program.Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of North Carolina and two years of experience in the area of specialization.Essential Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
This position requires a great deal of autonomy coupled with the ability to seek input, oversight when appropriate.
Candidates must have demonstrated the ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with volunteers, patients, families, staff, physicians, and sponsor representatives from diverse backgrounds.
Must be willing and able to adjust to varying work/time demands.
Candidates must have excellent data documentation skills.
Candidates must have the ability to adjust to rapidly adjust to priorities in a high-paced, high-pressure environment while maintaining patient safety and data quality.
Knowledge and experience with clinical research highly preferred.
