SUMMARY:

The Data Analyst 3 performs advanced data analysis using various techniques. This role determines best practices and develops actionable insights and recommendations for the current business operations or issues. Key responsibilities include advanced business data interpretation, such as identifying trends or patterns of complex data sets, and designing of complex databases and dashboards data to optimize statistical efficiency and quality. This role also works collaboratively with internal and external clients and serves as a subject matter expert regarding compensation related concerns.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinate and maintain the National Information and Reporting System (NIRS) for the Mailman Center core grants (LEND and AIDD). Enter and maintain current data for Faculty Profiles, Activities, Projects, Products and Trainees Datasets. Collect, enter and analyze data in Excel and create reports for the different datasets.

  • Coordinate and maintain the LEND Program Quality Improvement data system. Collect, enter and analyze data in Excel and create reports for the different datasets.

  • Coordinate distribution and collection of Mailman Center Consumer Satisfaction Survey data. Integrate data into NIRS and LPQI.

  • Prepare and submit appendices and reports for the Mailman Center core grants from the NIRS database, and Consumer Satisfaction Survey.

  • Design, manage, and integrate databases to collect Faculty CVs and staff resumes on an annual basis and extract information for NIRS and Digital Measures.

  • Extract, synthesize, and analyze community-level data related to child health and development.

  • Prepare and analyze outreach technical assistance report from NIRS database, for the Children’s Medical Services grant reports.

  • Using the UChart database as well as contract contact databases from grants and contracts, prepare and analyze clinical service data for grant reports.

  • Using University research databases, create and maintain a current database of Mailman Center research projects, including IRB approval, grants (annual and total direct and indirect funding, start and end dates, involved faculty and staff), presentations, and publications.

  • Working with the Mailman Center leadership, design and implement dashboards to track progress on Center clinical, training, research, and community engagement initiatives, as well as perform trajectory analyses of key priority outcomes

  • Performs advanced data analysis using various techniques, e.g. statistical analysis, explanatory and predictive modeling, data mining. Determines best practices and develops actionable insights and recommendations for the current business operations or issues

  • Performs ad-hoc analyses and reporting, to aid management in the decision-making process. Builds dashboards or reporting systems for end users, and designs predictive modeling or other data mining capabilities

  • Designs and develops complex databases and dashboards data to optimize statistical efficiency and quality

  • Provides advanced business data interpretation, such as identifying trends or patterns of complex data sets. May handle special analytical projects as needed

  • Provides support and training to applicable staff regarding data management and use

  • Locate and define new process improvement opportunities; proactively identify opportunities to enhance data collection, quality and accessibility

  • Develops and implements systems to capture business operation information. Acts as a subject matter expert and advises less experienced analysts

  • Defines data elements and establishes policies and procedures related to the collection, accuracy, quality, security, and maintenance of data

  • Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field

Experience:

Minimum 5 years of relevant experience is required

Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes:

  • Ability to exercise sound judgment in making critical decisions.

  • Skill in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail.

  • Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work under pressure while meeting deadlines.

  • Ability to work independently and/or in a collaborative environment.

  • Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form.

  • Ability to maintain effective interpersonal relationships.

  • Proficiency in computer software (i.e. Microsoft Office)
